Stitch Your Favourite Animal

With our theme for this week all about re-creating your favourite animal or pets in stitch, here are some resources for you to help get started:

The incredibly talented Hazel Blomkamp has produced an entire book full of spectacular designs centred around her take on portraits of some of the world’s most iconic animals including the tiger, lion, zebra, giraffe, monkey and leopard.

PS – Hazel also has a fabulous book featuring six flamboyant farm and game birds to stitch, for those enamoured with our feathered friends.

Bonnie the Cow & Friends by Claire Gelder

If crochet is more your preferred expression in stitch, this book includes the patterns for Bonnie the Highland Cow, Isla her calf, as well as other adorable, crocheted companions.

With soft, chunky yarn and long, floppy limbs, you'll have no choice but to pick them up for a cuddle or a snuggle on the sofa with them.

Decisions, Decisions! by Helen M. Stevens

If you love squirrels then this little guy might just be your next beau.

Helen has captured a highly animated red squirrel furiously foraging away trying to decide which pinecone to stash away, only to be startled by an onlooker!
