Survey Says… The Results Are In.

16TH JANUARY 2026 - ASU #508

Thank you to everyone who participated in our survey last year, where we invited our All Stitched Up! readers to help shape the future of Inspirations.

After reviewing the results and receiving so many positive responses, we wanted to share some of the key findings with you.

When it came to voting for the most popular needlework techniques, the top responses were threadpainting, crewel embroidery, counted stitch, stumpwork and cross stitch.

If you were wondering whether it was just you who stitched every day, you’re certainly not alone.

An impressive 63% of respondents stitch daily, with a further 28% stitching weekly.

Many of you expressed interest in an additional seasonal issue of Inspirations each year, as well as a digital + print bundle subscription option. Our teams have heard this feedback and are currently exploring the possibility of introducing these in the near future.

When asked about future content, the most popular responses were for how-to instructional books, more A Passion for Needlework volumes and an expanded online range - so stay tuned for more information.

We also received thoughtful and much-appreciated feedback and suggestions for the future of Inspirations, including which types of projects are most popular, what you’d like to see featured less and more often, and how we can make our publications and kits more accessible. Our team has read every response and is excited to bring you more of what you love.

When asked about your main sources of inspiration for embroidery projects, 44% selected ‘other’, going on to explain that newsletters and seeing what fellow stitchers and members of your stitching groups are working on were among the biggest influences.

Many participants also shared how much they enjoy seeing what members of the global needlework community are creating in our What Are You Stitching? segment.

What Are You Stitching? continues to rate as the most popular part of the All Stitched Up! newsletter

We’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has contributed - and continues to contribute - to What Are You Stitching?. Once again, the survey clearly shows that by taking the time to share your work, you’re providing a much-needed dose of inspiration and encouragement to fellow stitchers around the world.

This is a perfect moment to remind you to keep sharing whatever you’re stitching by emailing us.

If you’ve stitched it, we want to see it - regardless of size, technique, style or level of difficulty.

As well as learning more about your stitching preferences, we were honoured to receive so many kind comments about how much our publications are appreciated, along with praise for our friendly and helpful customer service team.
