More about this digital file
Description
The unique life-cycle of members of the Order Lepidoptera is endlessly fascinating and wonderfully illustrated in this superb study, depicting the beautiful emerald moth in all its stages.
Set against a garland of blackberry sprigs, the blue-green of the moth wings form a delicate contrast with the purple and reds of the berries, green leaves and the fresh white and pale pink of the flower petals.
Worked with silk and cotton threads onto a silk ground, stumpwork and surface embroidery techniques bring this delightful scene to life.
